Roots Folk Special: Harp and a Monkey - Live at The Deer Barn Music Club - 19th March 2026

£18.00 per person

Join us at The Deer Barn Music Club for a magical evening of roots and storytelling with the acclaimed trio Harp and a Monkey.

This award-winning Lancashire outfit blend folk tradition with modern flair, creating hauntingly beautiful songs about love, loss, and the everyday poetry of life. Their performances mix humour, warmth, and a touch of the unexpected, earning them support from BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3, and leading folk critics across the UK.

Armed with instruments ranging from harp and banjo to glockenspiel and melodica, Martin Purdy, Simon Jones and Andy Smith weave evocative tales that are both deeply English and utterly original. Described by The Observer as “bold and brilliant” and by fRoots as “one of the most vital and charismatic things happening in English folk music right now,” this is a band not to be missed.
